Niki Swanson,75 of Bloomington,IL, passed away at 4:00 AM on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Bloomington IL.

There will be no service or visitation.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Easter Seals Foundation. Cremation service provided by Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL.

Niki was born August 12, 1941 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Walter and Roberta Miller Rasmussen. Surviving are 5 children, Glenn Swanson, Shannon (Michael) Swanson-Gustafson, Davenport, Iowa, Jerad (Amy) Swanson, Bloomington, IL, Jennifer (Nick)Swanson, Bloomington IL and Erin (Jon) Cook, Normal IL, 8 grandchildren, Chris, Bret, Jakob, Mac, Braden, Riley, Kaigan and Brody,1 great grandson, Christopher, 2 brothers, Craig Rasmussen, Pittsburg, PA and Brad (Judy) Rasmussen, Highland, IN

Niki is preceded in death by her parents and her significant other Don Nelson.

Niki graduated from Rich Township High School, Park Forest, IL. She attended Illinois State University, Normal where she received her bachelor degree in Education. She taught fourth grade at Danvers Elementary School and also substituted at Danvers Elementary School. She later worked for Clemons & Associates Bloomington, IL until retired in 2009. Niki enjoyed painting, ceramics, traveling and cooking. She loved her children and grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her.
